Chef Linda Ketzner Date: June 21, 2014 Location: St. Francis, KS "Sawhill Park" Make your reservation "NOW" to enjoy a "K.C Strip Steak Dinner" at "St. Francis Alumni Reunion" on June 21st, 2014. IMPORTANT: make your reservation EARLY w/MONIES, sent to ensure a successful event! The event will be coordinated by our own local alumni member, "Exec. Chef Linda Ketzner (Class 1967)"! The event will be set-up with local volunteers wanting to "Pay It Forward" to ensure our alumni reunion continues each year! Coordinator Chef Linda plans to create a street-event between both parks with green & gold tables w/ relishes, sour dough rolls, tossed family-style salad bowls pre-seated. The alumni guests will be seated in the designated area of your classes. Plan to enjoy a beer from the "ALUMNI BEER GARDEN" with your fresh grilled steak, if you so choose. Ten grill cook teams will grill 40 steaks per-row, hot off the grill. Our grill cooks will compete in a competition with their row of 40 alumni guests. If you think your steak is the best "TIP" your "GRILL COOK TEAM"! All proceeds will go back to the Alumni Association to help pay food expenses. A special prize will be awarded to the top "GRILL COOK TEAM"! The "GRILL COOKS" will be wearing green & gold hard-hats with their grills taped off in a "DANGER ZONE"! Come prepared to have FUN! The rest of the menu will consist of 10 oz. K.C. Strip steaks cut by our own local meat cutter, Les Doggett (Class 1960). The price has been "CUT" to meet our budget by Les. Chef Linda will be sauteing fresh mushrooms to add to the flavor of the steaks, baked potato w/butter & sour cream will be placed on each table. Our chef will order sturdy plates and silverware. The St. Francis Indian Carwash, Keith Dankenbring manager, purchased steak knives for this and other community meals. To finish off our meal we have "SUGAR COOKIES" created by our own local, Cindy Henderson. Each cookie will have "2014" on the top of her famous iced sugar cookie! We are currently looking for "VOLUNTEERS" to grill steaks, students to serve the steak dinner. Students will be dressed in Cheyenne Indian Track & Basketball Uniforms. High school boys will be setting up and taking down tables and chairs. Chef Linda needs baskets donated for dinner rolls. The "Thrift Store" has already donated baskets with some tongs but more are needed. If you have baskets you would like to donate, leave them at the Thrift Store. Please no large baskets, large enough for 8-10 rolls per basket, as we will be serving 6-8 alumni per table. Tongs are needed for the salads. Salad bowls will be purchased at $1 per bowl, donations to purchase these utensils are also welcome. All supplies will be set aside for community events to follow in the future! Donations can be left with Tom Keller or Raedell Winston, alumni committee! Contact "Chef Linda" if you have a large grill and willing to grill steaks! Contact information: [email protected] or text 785-772-1029. Follow "Alumni Facebook Page" and this website for updates! In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to the high school cafeteria. | ||
